Formfutura – PVA – 2.85

This has been an incredibly tricky filament to get used to. Despite storing airtight in a bag, along with silica gel etc, I’ve never successfully been able to use this support filament. It on-boards water very quickly, with crackling heard on first use. Second attempt led to it snapping throughout bowden tube and also jamming up causing quite a difficult time removing entirely. Wouldn’t recommend this for anybody unless living in a lab, I’m not even in a humid climate...

Cooling And When To Use A Fan

Typically cooling fans should not be used on the first layer as this is the time when you want to ensure as much adhesion as humanly possible. The old mantra was always that PLA uses cooling and fans and that the more the better and the ABS didn’t use fans at all as you wanted to ensure ABS called down slowly as possible due to its fragile nature while cooling.
